  1. Cook the sausages in a little oil over a medium heat, turning, for about 15 minutes until browned all over and cooked through. Set aside.
  2. Meanwhile boil the potatoes in salted water for 15 to 18 minutes until tender. Drain well, then mash with the butter and milk and season.
  3. For the gravy, heat the oil in a pan and cook the onions slowly for 12 to 15 minutes until soft and golden.
  4. Stir in the flour and cook for a minute, then gradually pour in the stock, stirring, until smooth.
  5. Add the Worcestershire sauce and simmer for 5 minutes until thickened. Season.
  6. Serve the sausages on the mash with plenty of onion gravy poured over.
